Gateway, Gateway to the New World - a symbol found in Baltia, mainly associated with funerals and funeral ceremonies. The Gateway symbol is often found at cemetery entrances or on tombstones.

History

Gateway is derived from the cross drawn on the coffin during the funeral. The priest makes the sign of the cross with his thumb in such a way that the Gateway comes out. The name Gateway comes from Gateway to the New World, which was formerly the term for an arch over a grave as a portal to heaven.

The symbol has no connection with the Star of Lakshmi, although it often looks identical. Both symbols come from different cultures and mean something completely different.
