The Holy State of Edenia was the successor state to the People's Independent State of Fredonia the first of the Fascist Era states. It is governed as a Fascist state. It was established on August 4, 2020. It directly succeeded the previous nation called the People's Independent State of Fredonia, which was also a Fascist state. Both states have been under the control of the Christian State Party, which is a Fascist political party that follows Social Moralism, a home-grown Fascist political ideology created by Isaiah Deegan.
Etymology
The name "Edenia" is derived from the biblical location of Eden, which is described as a perfect and happy place where Adam and Eve resided. As such, Edenia is named after it as it is seen as a nation that is meant to be perfect and happy.
History

People's Independent State of Fredonia
The People's Independent State of Fredonia declared its independence on July 17, 2020. It adopted a constitution at 3:36 PM on that very same day. The nation of Fredonia established everything that Edenia has today, especially in regards to its government system and ideology, as well as its symbols. However, Fredonia did not receive very much praise when it announced its constitution, as the document explicitly advocated for the death penalty for multiple crimes and banned Satanism due to the Christian values of the government. These policies were quickly rolled back and removed from the document. Fredonia then was renamed to the Holy State of Edenia on August 4, 2020.
Independence
At independence, Edenia adopted the constitution made by Fredonia, but then heavily added more to the document, making several new amendments and parts, as well as rolling back previous reforms made due to the pressure of foreigners. The ruling party, the Christian State Party, was further entrenched into the government by enshrining its status into the constitution itself. Social Moralism was also created as the official state ideology, and it established Edenia as a peculiarity in the Fascist political sphere, as it was not as traditionalist as other Fascist ideologies.
Coup of August 30
On 12 August 2020, the CSP was in a state of stagnation. Their nation, the Holy State of Edenia, was growing slightly, but they lacked any actual influence in the world. The party had drawn up plans for a possible insurrection in Alaska that was planned for the future so they could gain full-on independence for their nation, but nothing went anywhere. However, they suddenly got an immense influx of citizens, which caused an immense amount of instability, as not everyone was supportive of his Fascist regime. One of these citizens, who was called Dalek, decided to exploit this by rallying the citizens against the CSP. He called for a monarchy to be installed, which Isaiah opposed fervently, as he was an anti-Monarchist. Dalek then called for the total overthrow of Harold, the CSP, and the Fascist government. He managed to get almost the entirety of the nation's population to oppose him, and all Isaiah and the CSP had backing them was the military. However, Harold refused to concede, and tried to calm the situation. He decided to create a monarchist state that was separate from Edenia called Imperial State of Eden and gave the protestors high positions in the new state. Then, he let everyone emigrate to that new nation, thus relieving the pressure Edenia was enduring. The new state would collapse on August 30, 2020, when Isaiah, as monarch of that puppet state, decided to abolish the monarchy in its entirety, which led to everyone leaving the puppet state. Thus, the brief puppet state came to an end and Edenia survived its one and only coup.
Present Day
The nation of Edenia in the present day is quite a proud one, though it is not very well connected to the wider world. Now it is pursuing a much more open foreign policy so it can advertise itself and gain citizens.
Government
Constitution
The constitution of Edenia was adopted on August 4, 2020. It includes seven articles all detailing different parts of the government and society of the nation. The document consists of 3 pages and 1,197 words, making it perhaps one of the shortest constitutions in the world. The constitution outlines 4 administrative districts which are each governed by a National Minister. These 4 National Ministers form a National Ministry which is headed by the Ceannaire of the Republic, who is the head of government. A Vice-Ceannaire is the head of state. The constitution has several amendments outlining several separate laws and rules that form a sort of legal code, though not all amendments describe a crime. One of the amendments establishes the Christian State Party as the sole legal party, which the Ceannaire of the Republic leads and which all candidates for offices are selected from by the Ceannaire of the Republic. Christianity is made the official religion.

The state religion is Catholicism, with the national church being the Holy Edenian Catholic Church.
Music
The national anthem of Edenia is a song that is to the tune of "Deck The Halls", Isaiah Deegan's favorite Christmas song. Several patriotic songs have also been made from some old music books Isaiah Deegan owns. Popular music in the country includes old big-band music, as well as jazz music. The most popular musicians and singers are Russ Morgan and Al Bowlly.
