The Lackluster War was a micronational conflict mainly between Liveno and Schpecktenia against Turisa and Opstandia. The Lackluster War saw few advancements from both parties, giving the event a reputation for being a "stale war." June 2023 saw a split between nations that supported hardline capitalism and communism, especially between Turisa and Liveno. Both nations saw each other as hostile, and regularly posted propaganda online making fun of the other. A coalition between both Liveno and Turisa's allies reached a point of declaring war, but a few days in, the conflict was generally resolved. Although, Schpecktenia decided to continue the war by declaring war on Opstandia, eventually surrendering to Opstandia.
Conflict
Prelude
The tensions between Liveno and Turisa were high due to Liveno's anti-communist beliefs, and being backed by Schpecktenia disliking Turisa. The war started when Turisa declared war on Liveno in 11 June 2023, Turisa did so because of "Liveno's dissemination of propaganda."
Early-War
In response, Schpecktenia swiftly declared war on Turisa, aligning itself with Liveno. Turisa's allies, Opstandia and the Oakforvian Empire, joined forces and also declared war, while the Midwest Republic and the Seluvian Empire sided with Liveno. Early on, the TDC Empire played a pivotal role in facilitating peace talks, resulting in a ceasefire between Turisa and Liveno. The "TDC Peace Agreement" helped most nations end their involvement in the war.
Late-War
Following the intervention of the TDC Empire, the Midwest Republic and the Seluvian Empire withdrew from the conflict. Schpecktenia wanted to continue war for personal interests, and targeted Opstandia, which was a neutral nation not involved in the war that did back Turisa diplomatically. Schpecktenia declared war on Opstandia, but this move was seen as controversial. The two nations planned to settle things in a battle on Minecraft, but a stalemate halted any continuation for a few days. Eventually, a ceasefire was declared on 17 June 2023, leading to the signing of the Treaty of Rebellenburg by both Schpecktenia and Opstandia.
Schpecktenian Impact
The defeat in the Lackluster War and the forced aid towards Opstandia in their civil crisis left Schpecktenia seen again as an aggressor nation.
