The Monarch of Arcadia (Prince when referring to a male Monarch and Princess when referring to a female Monarch) is the Head of state and Absolute monarch of the Grand Principality of Arcadia who hold absolute power within the nation. The incumbent Arcadian Monarch is Prince Terry III (Birth name Terry McKeen III), with him being the first Monarch of the nation and the founder of the Arcadian Monarchy. The Prince is the appointer of the Prime Minister and appoints all members of the Parliament of Arcadia and represents the nation in all foreign interactions and has the authority to institute Royal Edicts into law. The Monarchy follows a hereditary system, with the Monarchs family or their designated heir assuming the thone when they die or abdicate, the heir does not need to be a blood relative of the Monarch, the Monarch also assigns roles to members of the royal family and others, such as Dukes, Duchesses, Marquis's, Barons, and Baronesses. The Prince is generally viewed as the most powerful person in the entire nation.

History

The Monarchy of Arcadia was first formed on May 19, 2022 when Terry McKeen III, the Federal President of Arcadia dismissed and dissolved the Senate of Arcadia and formed reformed Arcadia into a Monarchy, crowning himself the nations first Prince. The move to a Monarchy was made after repeated foreign intervention and foreign influence within Zeprana, the predecessor to Arcadia in the hopes that an Absolute monarchy would prevent influence from foreign Micronations. Shortly after on May 20, Royal Edicts began being passed into law by the order of Terry III which increased and cemented the power of the Monarchy, with him appointing all ten members of the House of Earls of Arcadia, other edicts were also passed into law soon after by his order, increasing the power of the Monarch. These Edicts granted the Monarch the power to dismiss and dissolve sitting of the legislature, rule by decree, etc. Soon after, Joseph I, Emperor of Meritia was designated heir to the throne of throne of Arcadia on May 29, 2022 strengthening ties between Arcadia and the Empire of Meritia. On May 30, Terry III began to institute other reforms in the nation when he appointed Alexander of the Nortonians to be the Holy Leader of the nation.

Powers, duties, and limitations

As for the Constitution of Arcadia the Monarch has the authority vested within him to:

• Appoint the Prime Minister, who is the Head of Government of the nation.
• Appoint members of the Legislature, as well as dismiss and dissolve the legislature.
• Appoint members of the Nobility of Arcadia
• Appoint the Holy Leader of Arcadia
• Open the both houses of Parliament
• Dismiss the Prime Minister of the nation
• Sign Royal Edicts into law without the consent of the Parliament

The Monarch is also the commander and chief of the Armed Forces of Arcadia.
