Pio Lowe is a Rubixian micronationalist, military officer, diplomat and statesman, serving as the incumbent President of the New Rubix Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the New Rubix Republic. He founded the New Rubix Republic and declared its independence on 4 April 2015. Lowe currently represents New Rubix in the Grand Unified Micronational and Cupertino Alliance and serves as the honorary ambassador of Vishwamitra in Australia. Pio Lowe currently resides in Sydney, Australia and holds micronational citizenship with the New Rubix Republic and State of Vishwamitra (honorary).

Early life

Pio Lowe was born in Sydney, Australia where he grew up and currently resides. During his childhood, he also spent substantial time overseas in Hong Kong. His time spent in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong in particular, has significantly shaped his personal worldview. Lowe was raised as a Christian.

Micronational career

New Rubix Republiic

Political Career

On 4 April 2015, Pio Lowe founded and proclaimed the unilateral declaration of independence of the New Rubix Republic. Following the signing of the Provisional Constitution of the New Rubix Republic, he was elected as the first President by the founding citizens. From that date, he has continuously served as the incumbent President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the New Rubix Republic, where he serves as General of the New Rubixian Army and General of the New Rubixian Air Force. As President, Lowe has no formal limitations on his powers and retains absolute control over the state and government alongside the State Council, which functions as his cabinet comprised of government ministers and senior military officers, and maintains strong personal support within the armed forces. There have been no planned or proposed Presidential elections. However, despite his autocratic rule Lowe has instituted free elections for the National Assembly and a government that guarantees freedom of speech, freedom of expression and civil liberties. Lowe authored the "Constitution Act, April 2021" which reaffirmed the 2015 UDI and outlines the scheme of governance for the New Rubix Republic.

Military Career

Lowe completed the Eureka Military Academy's qualifying Armed Forces Aptitude Test in 2023 but has held the rank of General in the New Rubixian Army and New Rubixian Air Force and the position of Commander-in-Chief since 2015. In conjunction with his position as Commander-in-Chief, he is Commanding Officer of the Auguston Detachment, Australia Garrison, Oceania Command. He founded the New Rubix Central Intelligence Bureau (NRCIB) in 2015, the grandfather to the current New Rubix National Intelligence Directorate (NRNID).

State of Vishwamitra

Pio Lowe is a member of the diplomatic staff of the State of Vishwamitra and was granted honorary Vishwamitran citizenship upon his appointment as a diplomat. On 25 June 2023, he was made a Grand Officer of the Most Honourable Order of the Crown of Purvanchal in recognition of his services to diplomacy between Vishwamitra and New Rubix by Sarala Baishya, Crown Princess of Purvanchal. On 29 June 2023, he was appointed by Varuna Sriraya, Rashtradhyaksh of Vishwamitra, to serve as the honorary ambassador of Vishwamitra in Australia. He was appointed following the dismissal of his predecessor Rory Leonard following a falling out with the Rashtradhyaksh.

MicroMilitaria

Lowe is the owner of MicroMilitaria, an intermicronational association and resource devoted to micronational militaria. He founded the organisation on 13 June 2023.
