The Pruso-Scotian Empire is a nation made of 12 districts on the eastern coast of North America. As of the 2018 census approximatly 34 million people live within the borders of the PSE. The 12 districts are as follows: New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, Quebec, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. While it may sound insane to create a micronation that takes up almost a quarter of Canada and America's north eastern states, the region has historically tried to unite with the independence of Quebec attempted throughout history many times. Similarly the unification of the New England States have also been suggested many times which leads to a compelling reason to create a micronation of more then two million kilometers in area since there is even a small chance it could actually be possible in the future. The PSE can be seen as something not what is a nation in the eyes of the micronationalist but what could be a nation. Because of the empire's size the mainland contains two timezones, Eastern time and Atlantic time.

Etymology

The Pruso-Scotian Empire originated from the historic german nation of Prussia. Scotians come from the name Nova Scotia that which came from the latin name of "New Scotland"

History

Week 1

The founding of the PSE was on June 12, 2020, by then the empire only comprised of the Coney Island island. The population was also only 25,000 with the capital being located at the historic Ford amphitheater along the coney island boardwalk. Expansion began the next day with the annexing of southern Brooklyn up to sunset park. This was known as the battle of Battle Hill since the final battle took place on the highest point in Brooklyn, a 200 ft hill in greenwood cemetery. The hill was reached by the PSE 6th infantry division in 4 hours while the 2nd and 3rd infantry divisions went east towards Prospect park. Flags of the nation were then planted on every major intersection in the nation. On July 14 the divisions reunited at the Brooklyn Bridge and on the 15th all the divisions moved through the remainder of Brooklyn. Queens who had allied with Brooklyn soon surrendered without a fight and was declared a part of the PSE. On July 15 Staten Island was fully annexed as well as the Bronx. Manhattan soon was attacked from all sides in what is known as the Battle for Times Square where all divisions raced to meet in the center of Manhattan and annex it. On the final minutes of July 15, Manhattan was annexed. North New York fell having no major city to keep their economy stable and the army increased 700%.
July 16 started with the naval division setting course for the invasion of Prince Edward island and Nova Scotia. The infantry moved east into Vermont and New Hampshire from the north and Connecticut from the south. Rhode Island was also taken and now the only large threat was Boston. The north went into Maine, annexed the state and moved back south while the Rhode Island army moved in from the south with a much harder time reaching Boston as thousands of lives were lost. The naval units meanwhile passed Cape Cod and were bombarding Boston harbors. By the time the north army reached the city was in ruins. With all of New England taken in 2 days the army postponed the invasion of Quebec as 1/3 of their army had been wiped out during the annexation. With sea superiority though on the north eastern coast, the PSE launched the largest naval invasion of there history. They knew Canada was told of their plans. With more members recruited into the army from Boston the naval invasion left the harbor with 14 divisions, and 91,000 soldiers. Meanwhile Canada planned for an invasion at Toronto or Montreal.

Week 2

July 19 and the naval invasion was offshore from Nova Scotia in the middle of the night. As soon as 3 am came around the naval forces directed the boats towards land. Upon impact all 91,000 soldiers bombarded Halifax. News only reached the armies stationed in Montreal and Toronto 20 minutes after the invasion and it would take another two hours to reach the opposing side. So rather then rush they would wait for the army to come to them. The PSE army swiftly passed through the Canadian islands and reached New Brunswick. By 6pm they had reached just 30 miles from Quebec City when the Canadian army was spotted just south of the city. They met at the Riviere de Sud in the infamous Saint Raphael Battle. It lasted through the night with large amounts of artillery constantly raining on the PSE army. There were so many shells being fired that enough fell into the river to cause a blockage of most of the water, this caused flowing to the surrounding terrain and made the battle all the more harder. By the morning of the 20th no one had made any progress and both sides called more reinforcements. The Canadians lost 14,000 men while the PSE lost almost 40,000 men. Luckily by noon reinforcements arrived and the total count risen to 120,000 vs. 95,000. July 20 passed by without any clear winner and with the Canadians gaining more reinforcements the PSE planned on settling down by building trenches. Through the night both sides build trenches while also getting bombarded by long range weapons. On the 21st the first wave of Canadian trench runners came. Out of the 500 men only 19 made it into trenches but all were killed. Now it was the PSE's turn to attack. With 2,000 men they ran for the enemy trenches. Meanwhile 3,000 men split and went a mile around the enemies and behind them. On 2:34pm both sides of the PSE army prepared for a two side invasion. On 2:35 all 70,000 stationed trench soldiers and the 3,000 flanking soldiers ran for the enemy trench. 3 out of 7 men died running from their trenches and by the time they made it 1,000 of the flanking soldiers also died. The Canadian forces were overwhelmed and Quebec was given to the PSE. The next day Newfoundland was also given away and the war ended with a PSE victory. July 21 became the countries independence day as thousands died to win the war. In the end 100,000 men died from the PSE while 140,000 died from the Canadians meaning a quarter of a million died in that one battle. In the entire campaign, the PSE lost 200,000 soldiers its self and 250,000 enemy soldiers were killed meaning that half a million deaths were caused by the uprising of the PSE.

Politics and government

The PSE is a constitutional monarchy with a house of parliament and a Monarchy line of succession with King John the First as the current reigning monarch. The monarch has power over commanding the military while parliament is in charge of laws being passed. Parliament is similar to the UK's parliament being a bicameral government. The nation has its own constitution and can pass amendments.
