Ribbon

The United States Service Medal, also known as the US Service Medal, or colloquially the Yank Badge, is a Royal Ameristralian Defence Forces decoration awarded for "serving within the territories of the United States."
Foreign soldiers who have served alongside or with Royal Ameristralian Defence Forces are not eligible for the award.

General information

The United States Service Medal was established by the Act to Establish Ameristralian Honours for Citizens, Military and Foreign Dignitaries - Contributory Factors, Eligibility, Requirements, Categories, and Rites 2021. The Commendation Medal may be awarded by the Minister of Defence, or by such military commanders, as the Minister may designate, to any Royal Ameristralian Defence Forces member, while serving in any capacity in or with the Ameristralian forces. When the United States Service Medal is awarded, the following criteria apply -

  • while serving in a humanitarian capacity during times of natural disaster or conflict;
  • while serving alongside foreign forces in a humanitarian capacity during times of disaster or conflict;
  • while serving alongside friendly foreign forces not engaged in a conflict, during times of a disaster.

There are no other requirements for the medal.

Appearance

The United States Service Medal was designed by David Brooke in 2021. (Brooke designed all Ameristralian military decorations).

History

The Sovereign Lord Mayor of Ameristralia, David Brooke, presented the idea of military decorations, along with other military decorations, to the Municipal Assembly on 28 August 2021 to award Ameristralian service members who distinguished themselves. The Municipal Assembly agreed and approved several military decorations.

Recipients

There is currently no recipients of the United States Service Medal.
