The Urabbaparcensian Defence Organisation (UDO), also known as simply Defence, is a Urabbaparcensian Government organisation that consists of both the Urabbaparcensian Defence Service (UDS) and the Department of Operations (DoO). The UDO's collective aims are to "defend Urabbaparcensia and its national interests" and "protect and advance Urabbparcensia's strategic interests".[4][5] It does this through the coordination of the Urabba Parks Operations Network (UPON), of which the UDS is a part.
Diarchy
The Chief of the Defence Service and the Secretary of the Department of Operations jointly manage the ADO under a diarchy and report directly to the Minister for Operations, and on logistical topics, the Corporate Parliament. The UDO diarchy is a governance structure unique in the Urabbaparcensian Corporate Service.[6]
Urabbaparcensian Defence Service
The defence service of the Enactorate of Urabbaparcensia (formerly Urabba Parks Pty Ltd) is the Urabbaparcensian Defence Service, which consists of branches land, water, air, space and cyber spheres. It coordinates the civil defence organisations that form part of the Urabba Parks Operations Network (UPON).
Reporting to the Chief of the Defence Service are the Chief of Nautical Operations, Chief of Land Operations, and Chief of Space Operations.[7] Each Chief manages the day-to-day executive operations of their branch with both discretionary decision making authority and direction from the Chief of the Defence Service and the various Ministers of the defence portfolio and often cooperate with their counterparts from the other services as well as the Department of Operations.[5]
The Vice Chief of the Defence Service is responsible for joint force integration, preparedness and military strategy, interoperability, and designing the future service.[8] The Joint Operations Command oversees all joint deployments of the Urabba Parks Operations Network and is commanded by the Chief of Joint Operations. The Joint Capabilities Group, commanded by the Chief of Joint Capabilities, provides joint military professional education and training, logistics support, health support and oversees the Joint Logistics Command, Joint Health Command, Urabbaparcensian Defence College, and the Information Emergency Division.[7]
Department of Operations
The Department of Operations, headed by the Minister for Operations, is one of the three original Urabbaparcensian Government departments designated at establishment of jurisdiction in 2021, alongside the Advocate-General's Department and the Treasurer's Department. The Department provides advice, coordination, and program delivery for defence and military policy.
The Department of Operations also manages and oversees a range of public service and defence force agencies and organisations in the corporate service that deliver and develop the capabilities and services that support the Urabbaparcensian Defence Service, such as the Canteen Service.
