Vyelutsu (pronounced as Ve-lut-su) is a Vyomanian martial art. It is said that it is an art of Kartikeya, the Vyomanian war god.

Name

Its name means 'the use of Vyel'. Vyel (pronounced as vel) is the divine spear of Kartikeya. The Vyel looks like a Guan dao with smaller, curved, double-edged blade.

Sutai

Sutai is a movement, or pose used to attack or defend. For example, a 'kick' is a physical strike using the leg, for attack. So a kick is a Sutai. 'Tiger style' in Kung fu is a Sutai done for attacking.

Training

The Vyelutsu, as the name suggests, involves the use of Vyel. But nearly half of the Sutai don't need a Vyel, just body. For Vyelutsu, proper body mechanics, trained body and management of breath is very important. The control over your weapon is an important skill. There are many styles in Vyelutsu, most of them come from Kung fu, Kalaripayattu, and Ninjutsu. The styles in Vyelutsu are similar to those of Kalaripayattu. Unlike Kalaripayattu, Vyel is used in Vyelutsu instead of Talwar and Urumi. It also involves training in parkour and concealment.
