The Caeserean Revolution is an ongoing conflict between the Republic of Bonumland and the Independent Republic of Caeserea, a breakaway state. The dispute revolves around the legitimacy of Caeserean sovereignty and the legality of independence. It began as a result of the installation of the monarchy in January 2021 and the subsequent presentation of the Wright Ultimatum.

Background

In December 2020, Bonumland underwent a coup to remove President Azerianus Severanus from power and install a monarchy. The coup was successful; Severanus was deposed and Isabella I was installed as the Monarch. The coup warranted a fierce opposition from Bonumlandian republicans; namely, those in the People's Alliance (known at the time as the Labour Party). Several Labour Party figures publicly spoke out against the newly created monarchy, such as Benjamin Pickles, Sean Dunkerque, and (internationally) Jonas Rhymer and Isaiah David. In a private conversation, Pickles, O'Lachtna, Rhymer and Burdette had discussed whether Burdette's removal as President of Florania was unconstitutional; Rhymer pointed out that he had declared the Floranian province of Caeserea independent during his term as Governor and that a similar situation had unfolded in Bonumland. The group drafted the Wright Ultimatum, which demanded (above all else) the abolition of the monarchy and reinstatement of Azerianus Severanus as President, or else face a revolution. The ultimatum was denied by Empress Isabella. Consequently, Florania (which had now become a Bonumlandian town) declared independence as the Caeserea. This action was supported by Floranian governor Benjamin Pickles.

Context

The war is taking place in Florania, a residential property. As such, lethal weapons and firearms (even non-lethal ones) are strictly prohibited by macronational law. Instead, belligerents make use of tactics and available resources (such as sticks) to commence a battle. Many Caeserean leaders are located far away from Florania, and therefore any potential conflict is extremely hard to fight. The term "covert forces" is used to describe local civilians who were informed of the war and took the Caeserean side. Contrary to most micronational wars, the Caeserean Revolution does not have a set of pre-defined rules or customs. Consequently, belligerents on both sides frequently "take it too far", and often get seriously injured. It is one of the few examples of genuine war between micronations.
