The Defence Council (Westavian: Protegios Consilum) is the primary organizational board responsible for the coordination of both peacetime and wartime defence. It consists of all high ranking and headquarters officials in the Public Force, Navy and Air Force. It serves also as a liason between government-defence agencies such as the Ministry of Defence and the actual military. It is headed ceremonially by the Commander in Chief of the Forces, King Sean II and V, whereas its professional head is the Chief of Defence Staff. All ranks above Brigadier General qualify for appointment, and all non-ceremonial Field marshals are automatically inducted upon promulgation.
