The Department of International Affairs and Relations was the government department of the Arstotzkan Federal Government tasked with the foreign affairs of the Arstotzkan Union. The department was also tasked with advising the Executive Committee on global situations, and geo-political events, as well as maintaining the Arstotzkan Union's network of Embassies and Consulates across New Zealand and representing the Arstotzkan Union in intermicronational organizations such as the Coalition of United Micronations.

On 17 March 2024, the Arstotzkan Federal Government began to rework many government agencies and two days later the Department of International Affairs and Relations was announced to become the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The position of Chief Ambassador was also dissolved and became Chairman of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

History

On 1 October 2021, the Arstotzkan Federal Government merged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Immigration into the Department of International Affairs and Relations. Both heads of the ministries became merged into one office, known as the Chief Ambassador of International Affairs.

From October 2021 until March 2024, the Department oversaw the writing of two foreign policies, the third and fourth foreign policies of the Arstotzkan Union.

The Department was also detrimental at managing relations with intermicronational organizations and led the Arstotzkan Union's policies when the nation was apart of the Coalition of United Micronations. It also aided in establishing the first major ties with a foreign power in 2022 with the first Arstotzkan embassy set up in the Ward Empire by the Department.

In 2024 the final act of the department was to form the Foreign Affairs Committee, an advisory committee in the department which monitored international affairs and geo-political activities.
