The Independent Social Party (Romanian: Partidul Social Independent, abbreviated PSI) is a center-left party from Plushunia, active from October 2020 to January 2021. It was a small party, with only one representative in the Plushunian Parliament at the time of dissolution, having been founded on 18 October 2020 by the moderate faction of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) decided to break away from the party following the election of socialist Ursu Polarescu as the leader of the Social Democrats and several disagreements with the party's new leadership. In January 2021, following the resignation of Ursu Polarescu from the leadership of the Social Democratic Party, Polarescu was replaced by the more moderate Ursuleț Plușeanu, who decided to open reconciliation talks with the PSI, talks resulting in the PSI's re-absorption in the PSD.
