Iris Nox (born 3 May 2006) is the Pope of Lytism, Overseer of the Autonomous Democracy of Lytpatri They are the founder of Lytpatri, the creator of the Irisen language, the founder of the Church of Lytism, and the founder and leader of the Light of God Group.
Lytpatri
Creation of Irisen
In early May 2023, Iris began having ideas of creating their own language. Their first attempt at creating a conlang was a language called Bophux, however, they gave up on that language in June 2023. After going on a sixteen day vacation to Europe, they began developing a new language, and formally named the language Irisen on 19 June 2023.
Founding of Lytpatri
The creation of Irisen on 19 June 2023 was the catalyst for the founding of Lytpatri, which Iris named the day of beginning their language. That same day, they began developing the flag of their nation.
Ruler of the Provisional State of Lytpatri
Iris ruled the Provisional State of Lytpatri from 19 June 2023 - 25 June 2023 as the Ruler of Lytpatri. As ruler, they worked on announcing the formation of their nation and on working on the Constitution of Lytpatri. They dissolved the Provisional State on 25 June 2023.
Founding the Democratic State of Lytpatri
After finalizing the Constitution and dissolving the Provisional State, Iris became Head of the Council of Lytpatri. They currently serve their duty as Head of the Council. They ratified the Constitution on 25 June 2023, and they have been serving under it since.
Founding the Church of Lytism
Iris founded the Church of Lytism on 26 June 2023, and declared themself to be Pope of Lytism, and Leader of the Faith.
Constitutional Crisis of Lytpatri
Iris founded the militant Light of God Group in opposition to the constitution they had formed, as they realized that they had removed from themself all power and thus the nation would be prone to going in a direction unfavorable to them, starting the crisis. On 26 June 2023, they dissolved the group, ending the crisis. An hour later, they went back on their decision, and dissolved the Democratic State, forming the Holy Sovereignty of Lytpatri and reforming the Light of God Group.
Sovereign of Lytpatri
As Sovereign of Lytpatri, Iris continued establishing and strengthening relations with Hokoria. They also continued developing Irisen, beginning the development of a logographic system of writing for the language. They were also made Council Member of Baria in the State of Hokoria. On 1 July 2023, Iris registered the Dawn of Liberation Party, and on 2 July 2023, Iris stepped down from being the Sovereign of Lytpatri, founding the Autonomous Democracy of Lytpatri, built on anarchist and democratic ideals.
Personal Life
Descent
Iris is mixed race, and they are of Puerto Rican descent through their fattheir and Italian-Swedish descent through their mottheir.
Art
Iris is an amateur artist, writer, and musician. Common themes in their artworks, writings, and music are death, mythologies, human nature, politics, and philosophy.
Religion
Iris grew up a nondenominational Christian. After a negative experience at a private Christian middle school, they identified as agnostic, and then as panentheist. In late 2022 to early 2023, they had a crisis of faith and switched faiths frequently, and now identifies as a pantheist, and is the Pope of Church of Lytism.
Gender Identity and Sexuality
Iris came out as bisexual in 2020. However, after realizing their asexuality, they came out as panromantic in late 2022. They came out as nonbinary in May 2022, and they go by they/she pronouns (though this article only uses they /them/their pronouns for consistency).
Political Views
Iris is a leftist. They are supportive of LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive rights, universal healthcare, racial equality, universal housing, and public transportation. They are an outspoken anti-fascist, expressed in their social media posts and in their art and writing.
