Georgienstine First

The March 2022 Georgienstinian congressional election was held on 26–27 March 2022.

It resulted in a Georgienstine First victory, with the party keeping its majority and making major gains. Vision Georgienstine suffered losses due to low voter turnout among its supporters. The newly-founded Communist Party saw gains.

Background

The January 2022 Georgienstinian congressional election resulted in Georgienstine First remaining as the majority party.

On 1 February 2022, Addison Dillon resigned and was replaced by Adrian Carneiro Dias.

From 7 February 2022 to 27 February 2022, Raphaël Olivier was on a temporary leave of absence. This led to a temporary cessation of government activities, as Olivier was unable to serve in his numerous political positions and unofficially oversee activities.

On 18 February 2022, Ben Olson and Aidan Clifford were given the authority to preside over congressional sessions but did not do so.

Electoral system and organization

The National Congress is composed of 16 seats elected by proportional representation in a single nationwide constituency, with a legal threshold of 1 full seat (6.25%), and residuals assigned by the D’Hondt method.

Campaign

Despite campaigning not having officially begun, one party had already been organizing efforts and canvassing. In early February, the Communist Party released a poster. When campaigning began, Georgienstine First and Vision Georgienstine began releasing several posters on activity, progressivism, the economy and GF's record in the majority. Most posters supporting Vision Georgienstine were released by Ben Olson's presidential campaign.

Georgienstine First

On 19 March 2022, Georgienstine First released its congressional list. They heavily emphasised activity. For 20 days, the entire government ceased functioning due to president Raphaël Olivier of Georgienstine First being unable to serve in his numerous political positions and unofficially oversee activities. The party has positioned itself as the sole party capable of keeping the nation active.

Vision Georgienstine

On 19 March 2022, Vision Georgienstine released its congressional list. They campaigned heavily in favour of progressivism, in favour of Ben Olson's presidential campaign.

Communist Party

On 25 March 2022, the Communist Party released its congressional list. They did not run a congressional campaign.
