Member of Parliament (Oshad)
In the Republic of Oshad a Member of Parliament (MP) is an individual appointed from within the Utopian Party by the President of Oshad to serve in the State Council of Oshad.
Appointment
All Members of Parliament in Oshad are appointed by the President of Oshad, currently President Luke of Oshad, to serve in the State Council of Oshad from the Utopian Party and they serve in the State Council at the President of Oshad or the Prime Minister of Oshad’s pleasure.
Eligibility
To become an Oshad Member of Parliament, a number of requirements need to be met:
- Have Oshad citizenship
- Serve as a member of the Utopian Party for a minimum of two months
- Be noticed and appointed by the President of Oshad
Title
Members of Parliament are entitled to use the post nominal title MP. Those who are members of the Cabinet of Oshad use the form the ‘Right Honourable (Rt. Hon.) Name MP.’
Responsibilities
Members of Parliament's primary responsibility is to act in the national interest. They must also act in the interests of their constituents where this does not override their primary responsibility. Finally, if they belong to a political party, they may act in the interests of that party.
