The Mimasian Distinguished Service Medal (MDS) is a military decoration of the Archduchy of Mimas. It is presented to a soldier who has distinguished themselves in service to the Archduchy in any of the branches of Mimasian military.
Description
- The Archducal hat surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves with a star above, surrounded by a circle 1 ½ inches in diameter, bearing the inscription "FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE ARCHDUCHY".
- The reverse side has the name of the recipient.
Criteria
The Mimasian Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to any person, while serving with the Mimasian Army or the Mimasian Navy, has distinguished themselves by exceptionally meritorious service to the Archduchy. The performance must be witnessed to be clearly exceptional. Since the Mimasian Defense Force does not actively take part in armed conflict the medal can be awarded in peace as in war. Awards may be made to persons not being members of the Mimasian Defense Forces only under exceptional circumstances with the joint approval of the Archduke and a senior officer of the military branch in question.
