The Munatopian conflict, commonly referred to as the Munatopian War of Independence, was a military confrontation between Olov and the newly-declared New Munatopia. This conflict began on November 12, 2021, and after months of intense clashing, it concluded on June 12, 2022, with an Olovian victory.

Background

The following conflict started it after the Independent Munatopia Movement (IMM) was recently formed after the Olovian formation, which has given to several worsening conditions, eastern factions of the Mainland Province was threatening the Olovian government throughout the conflict.

Timeline

Munatopian Declaration of Independence

On 13 November, 2021, the IMM (Independent Munatopian Movement) made an attempt to declare an unofficial independence from Olov without a referendum, a move that was subsequently rejected by the Olovian government. Olovian president Saleh A.H denounced this action as "unreasonable" and responded by initiating uprisings in several regions that were claimed by the Munatopian movement. The Olovian government seeks to maintain control over the disputed territories.

Alice attack

On 12 November 12, 2021, an unofficial attack was launched by the Olovian National Military in response to the separatist threat in the Jamila (present-day Badegelk) regency. The operation lasted for approximately fifteen minutes and three seconds. The engagement involved three Olovian military soldiers and two Munatopian militias, the attack resulted inconclusive.

Operation Katto

On 4 January, 2022, the Olovian soldiers initiated "Operation Katto" which was an offensive attempt to capture Munatopian leader Mona Badegel, and was aimed to annex the Munatopian-claimed area, the offensive resulted in a major failure.

Operation Alice

On 9 June, 2022, the Olovian military launched an offensive under the codename "Operation Alice" which was primarily aimed to annex the occupied area of Munatopia by the IMM (Independent Munatopian Movement), the Alice operation was considered successful to re-occupy the Munatopian claimed area and reformed the administration of Jamila (present-day Badegelk) Regency.

Before launching the operation, Saleh A.H made a summarized speech:

"We will crush our enemies until they retreat and fade from this second, because they are cowards who are ineffectual and weak to attack us!"

Following the Alice operation, the IMM (Independent Munatopian Movement) officially surrendered and swiftly disbanded just fifteen minutes after the annexation. In celebration of their declared triumph, the Olovian army commemorated the victory with a grand parade, accompanied by displays of fireworks. At around 8:13 PM (UTC+7), at least four fireworks were fired, celebrating the Olovian victory and the end of the conflict.
