The People's Independent State of Fredonia was a micronation that claimed to be an independent state that was founded on 17 July 2020, and was dissolved on 4 August 2020, existing for a total of 19 days. It was a Fascist One-Party State that was governed by the Christian State Party, and was the sight of a planned military campaign that intended to form a legitimate Fascist government in Alaska.
History
Background
The nation was founded due to the collapse of the Free State of Deeglandia on 17 July, it's predecessor, which was also a Fascist state. The nation that came before lacked a solid party or belief, but Freedonia ended that by establishing the Christian State Party, and founding the ideology of Social Moralism, also known as National Moralism.
Foundation
After the events on that day, the nation was founded, with the establishment of the Christian State Party, and a constitution was written, as well as the creation of a flag and emblem. The nation banned all religions except for Christianity, banned all parties except for the Christian State Party, banned Homosexuality (despite the leader himself being gay), and forced all citizens to have a job, as well as introducing conscription. These acts were widely criticized, especially after the nation proclaimed that all Atheists and Satanists deserved to be given the death penalty, specifically hanging.
Stagnation and Collapse
The nation quickly began falling apart after it began getting widely criticized by other nations for promoting Fascism, specifically by Desert District when Fredonia praised the Fascist Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. This led to Desert District describing the leader of Freedonia as an "idiot" because of the fact that Benito Mussolini aided the Nazis in their persecution of Jews during the Holocaust.
These numerous controversies led to the nation becoming isolated, and their numerous failures at creating a solid legislature did not help either, and only aided in the gradual decline of the nation. Eventually, on 4 August 2020, the nation dissolved, and was reformed into the Holy State of Edenia.
