In this traditional Sabian name, Arxentavái is the matronymic and Guviér is the family name.

Pomme-Gabrielle Gauvier IOB (Sabian: bomi-gabriél arxentavái guviér), commonly known as Pomme Gauvier is a Sabioveronese academic, filmmaker, actor and politician. Gauvier is considered one of the founding fathers of Sabia and Verona, having chaired the first meeting of the Legislative Courts on 18 October 2012 and provisionally holding the title of Prime Minister of Sabia and Verona until the appointment of Napoléon Bleuberrie to the post. He was a member of the Legislative Courts from 2012 to 2013. Upon the foundation of the Socialist Party by Bleuberrie, Gauvier became Vice President of the party.

On July 25, 2013 after the failed self-coup attempt by Bleuberrie, Gauvier became President of the Socialist Party. Gauvier left politics on 20 October 2013, on Sabia and Verona's first year anniversary, and has dedicated his time to various endeavours since then, most notably filmmaking, acting and theater. Since 2017, Gauvier has been the rector (president) of the Isadoran University. In 2018, he made an unexpected return to politics as an MP candidate in the Democratic Party's list.

Early and personal life

Pomme was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He worked as a private detective in his hometown before leaving for Venezuela, where he led a short-lived career as a police officer. In Venezuela he met Napoléon Bleuberrie, Léon Galieri, the Jens family, and Ulla Müller, who would eventually become his wife. Müller and Gauvier married on 12 October 2012, while they were both actively campaigning in the Sabia and Verona People's Movement. The couple have two children, twins Maximilien "Maxi" and Félix, both of whom have pursued careers in politics.[1] Gauvier is the godfather of Snø Jens, and officiated his wedding to Léon Galieri.

Political career

Gauvier began his political career in the Sabia and Verona People's Movement, the political and social movement founded by Napoléon Bleuberrie before the creation of Sabia and Verona. Gauvier was one of Bleuberrie's closest collaborators, and participated in the "Tiburones ballena pa' la Asamblea" campaign in mid-2012. When Sabia and Verona was created in October 2012, Gauvier became a member of the Communist Party of Juclandia, and represented the party in the first meeting of the Legislative Courts, which he chaired.

As chair of the first meeting, he was briefly named "acting" Prime Minister" before Bleuberrie's election to the position by members of the Courts. Gauvier later co-founded the Socialist Party (Sahoedang) alongside Bleuberrie, Ulla Müller and other Communists and Socialists in Sabia and Verona. Gauvier was named Vice President of the party by Bleuberrie, who became President. At the 2012 general election, Gauvier was elected to represent the municipality of Salisse in the Courts, and served one full term as part of the parliamentary opposition to Osez Kóvérsz's Unity Party.

Gauvier didn't contest any seats in the May 2013 election, in which the Socialists received a plurality of seats, but remained Vice President of the party. After the failed self-coup attempt, Bleuberrie was arrested and his government taken over by the Commission for the Preservation of Democracy, and Gauvier became interim president of the Socialists. As president of the weakened party, he made the decision to abstain from participating in the September 2013 election, and the party lost all representation in the Courts.[2]

On 20 October 2012, amid an internal party crisis, Gauvier resigned from his position in the party and announced his intention to leave politics altogether.[1]

Career after politics

Gauvier's actoral debut was in the short clip "La Aventura en la Biblioteca de Pomme" which was written and directed by Tarik Kârjasary specifically for Gauvier. Although the short was released before the formation of Sabia and Verona, it's considered a Sabioveronese classic and the earliest example of Sabioveronese cinema.

He then worked as producer for Napoléon Bleuberrie's short-lived talk show, The Bleuberrie Report, which aired from April to May of 2013. In May 2013 he started working on a new project, this time both as director and actor in the Pashqar romance/drama "Ashar af qafër" (اشار اف قافهر, "love in october"), produced by Florenia Boovuzela Pictures. In the end, Ashar af qafër was released in Spanish as Amor en Octubre, and Gauvier's creative imput was (according to him) "shafted" by the production team.[3]

After Ashar af qafër's failure, Gauvier retreated himself to stage plays, mostly working on the annual shows of Los Siete Cubos with Florenia Boovuzela, with whom he developed a close bond and working relationship. In 2016, he directed a Sabian language rendition of Federico García Lorca's play The House of Bernarda Alba, to honour the Spanish playwright's death in a government-sponsored event.[4] In December 2016, Gauvier released Proun, a short film with himself as protagonist, also directed by himself, with collaboration from Tarik Kârjasary and Apollo Cerwyn. Proun was extensively promoted by the Sabioveronese Government and the Arts Division under Ryam Piper.

Since 2017, Gauvier has been the rector of the Isadoran University (TID), succeeding Dargo Brevik. Since his tenure began, the TID has expanded with three new departments (botany, arts, and plushology), and become the largest university in Sabia and Verona, surpassing the University of Elinore. Gauvier is also head of the Arts Department in the TID.[5]
