Southopearce, officially the Home Province of Southopearce and known for postal & statistical purposes as Province H4, is a divisional province of the Princian Commonwealth. Southopearce elects 29 ministers and 7 lordministers for representation in the Electoral Legislature of the Prince's Order. Southopearce's three-digit country code is STH and from 27th February 2021 to 1st February 2023 it was a member of Addera Prefecture, now being a member of Fidelia Prefecture.
History
The people of Princia have unofficially laid claim to the land south of the Home Province of Addersonheath since as far back as the Imperial Era, but this claim was only officialised on 21 January 2021 after the unification and ratification of the claimed counties as Home Province of Southopearce.
Etymology
The name Southopearce comes from an area of predominantly heath and some woodland known as "the Pearce," which itself comes from the Greek "petros," meaning "rock," as the woodland itself adjoins onto a rocky beach. The premodifier "Southo-" is due to only the southern portion of the Pearce woodland being claimed as part of the province, with the rest forming Adderson's Heath after which the Home Province of Addersonheath is named.
