Syri entered Easwegian public life in 2021 when he became Director of Agriculture & Environment on 15 December 2021, following elections of the 6th National Directorate. A republican democrat, Syri aligned himself with the Seven Masts and anti-imperialism. Much of Syri's early career has been observed by pundits as finding himself politically, including founding two unsuccessful parties, the Easwegian Democrats and the Communist Ouroboros Party of Easway. Syri was not without controversies, including the April Affair, whereby he joked with other members about a junta-style Easway. Due to the freshly ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and destabilising relations of Easway with Russia, this was taken seriously by the High Court and Syri was barred from office for the remainder of 2022. He was given clemency in October 2022 by then Grand Councillor Emizerri and has since became one of Easway's most trusted politicians in public polling, and has entered the head of state federal council.

Personal Life

Syri is a practicing muslim. he was born to an upper middle class family in Kuwait. He moved to Cyprus and Easway After. He is private on his personal life.

2023 - Present

Following the Forty Ninth Amendment which passed 8 April 2023 and among other things made Easway a parliamentary federation, Syri, alongside other members took their new seats within the legislative transitional United Common Assembly, becoming prefect of Pomoresia's (then referred to as Maritime Hopen) Rijp. Previously, prefectures were represented by the United Prefectural Assembly.

Syri, then a member of the socialist Solidarity party, was barely elected as 6th General Director of the National Directorate, with 3 votes in favour, 1 vote against and 3 abstentions. At this point, the General Director, whilst being chief of government, held only nominal power and there was little enthusiasm for the position after its scandal regarding former General Director Etchaczech and its subsequent power-sharing model of two members holding the position. Syri immediately used his new-found position to advocate for Easway's unrecognition of the Russian-aligned breakaway republic of Transnistria, recognised by Easway since 2020, although he failed to gather enough support for this to progress past initial proposal. Following the May 2023 Easwegian General Election, Syri failed to gather enough support to be re-elected as General Director, with 3 votes against and 2 in favour. Another vote was held on 27 May with him seeking re-election, this time with 4 votes against, none in favour and one abstention. The cause for this was largely seen as due to Syri's previous barring of office by the Supreme Court in 2022, Syri leaving the Solidarity party very shortly before the May election, where he was re-elected as prefect of Rijp, and general distrust of the position of General Director during this period. Aleksoundër Zerrindou, a member of Easway First, also attempted to run for General Director on 28 May, with 6 votes against, 3 in favour, and 1 vote in abstention, giving validity to the last theory. Syri was finally succeeded as General Director on 1 June 2023 by then Marquis of Pomoresia and political veteran Squ Bai, who received 6 votes in favour and one abstention.
