The following article is a complete list of the chronology of events and occurrence the 2023 Ondernaming civil conflict.

Timeline

2023 April

  • Prelude to the civil-conflict

18-19 April: An oppositional rallying occurred around 00:18 AM (UTC+7), within the main streets of Ondernaming, led by self-declared chief Mikael Gabriel Rafael, estimated over fourteen people participated, with mostly filled with participants on the age of 7-10. Political defamations, mockeries, and threatening harassments towards the relatives of Olovian president Saleh A.H were made, by Firly, a participant of the anti-Saleh faction, which became the main campaign of the faction as a motive. Leading figures of the faction have fully-supported Firly's message and threats. Mikael's attempt on charging the Maria square in Van Engels, was cancelled.[1]

At around 3:35 AM (UTC+7), Saleh leaked a video of the anti-Saleh faction's pyrotechnic training, through Discord.

20 April: Mikaelist faction self-declared chief Mikael Gabriel Rafael continues the use of Virtex (virus texts) through WhatsApp's direct-message on the account of Olovian president Saleh A.H.

22-23 April: Mikael pushes threats against Saleh A.H through WhatsApp, he was then called an Arab illiberal.

2023 May

  • Throughout the month, peace negotiations were formed by both parties since May, 2023.

3 May: After Saleh's return from his holiday in Bali, participants of the anti-Saleh faction protested on Saleh A.H during his official visit on Ondernaming. As over six protestors were around the field, attempting to gain attention from Saleh, by forming a resistance towards him, along with his supporters and mercenaries. As a result, Matheus William abandons the Ondernaming neutral committee, he claims that he will defend Mikael Gabriel Rafael at all cause, as he said that he "does not care" about Mikael's anti-Arab sentiment or possible Islamophobic remarks.[2]

Adnan Adi Pratama, the leading key figure in the faction, shortly met Saleh A.H in the main field of Ondernaming. He apologized to Saleh, for the misunderstanding-resistance, he declares himself as disarmed along the conflict.

  • According to some witnesses, Adnan also "embraced" Saleh as a form of apology.

4 May: A firefight clash between Saleh A.H, along with his soldiers, against Mikael Gabriel Rafael on the Fadil-Arit area, at around 16:38 PM (UTC+7), until 17:20 PM (UTC+7).

7-8 May: Executives of the Olovian-central government, which includes Saleh A.H, and Muhammad Farhan, issued a regulation that limits the use of pyrotechnics, on military hostilities and attacks. The pyrotechnics used during the conflict can cause burns, cuts, and other serious injuries to Olovian soldiers and civilians, and a risk of hearing damage and other health issues associated with exposure to loud explosions. The main regulation also prohibits the use of certain types of pyrotechnics and imposes fines for violating the rules.[3]

Additionally, some local governments of Ondernaming, under Mikael's rule, have agreed to the implementation of a ceasefire within Ondernaming, to cease military hostilities, in their affected areas due to safety concerns.[4]

11 May: Dzikri, Saleh's "self-declared guard" who later switched sides with the Mikaelist faction by the 1 June, 2023, intruded on Mikael's youth militia, while they were training in the main field, where the members of the militia were mainly at the age of 7-10, Dzikri claimed to have underestimated them instead, by perpetrating an intrude their training. The actions of Dzikri were heavily deemed "unacceptable" by Mikael's supporters, and harmful to society.

Anti-Saleh faction chief, Mikael Gabriel Rafael was not present in the field, as he was supposed to be present during the training. Before the intrude, Dzikri and Farhan claimed that Mikael was insulting Saleh's father, and said that his father was "searching for milk in hell" referring to the "fatherless" meme joke.

16 May: Olovian statesman and president Saleh A.H, waved the Olovian flag in the main streets of Ondernaming, at around 16:23 PM (UTC+7). He was slandered as a "terrorist" several times during his presence in the field.

24 May: As the Mikaelist militias were gathering, Dzikri accused them of preparing an offense and were "attempting to trigger" Olovian-controlled Ondernaming.[5]

30 May: At around 17:32 PM (UTC+7), Faaris Akran Pratama left the Mikaelist faction, he was then promoted as corporal of the Olovian military.

31 May: At around 16:20 PM (UTC+7), Olovian president and anti-Saleh faction self-declared Chief Mikael Gabriel Rafael, handshakes at the Ondernaming field, in order to strengthen relations during the ceasefire.

2023 June

  • Ending of the ceasefire, peace negotiations failed, and both parties began to clash in a military operation.

1 June:

An Olovian-military-owned Isuzu Panther 2002, with the Olovian flag standing, since late-May 2023.
  • At around 01:03 AM (UTC+7), an Olovian-military-owned Isuzu Panther stands in the center of the Maria square, Van Engels, with the Olovian president Saleh A.H confessed that it was meant for national security purposes. A Mikaelist gang with his motorcycle was getting his way blocked by local patrols in Ondernaming, misleading to a short confrontation between two parties, the situation was immediately ceased, as the Olovian patrol.
  • At around 14:19 PM (UTC+7), Mikael Gabriel Rafael allegedly attempted to occupy an Olovian-controlled Ondernaming area, the Olovian president and statesman Saleh A.H visited the area immediately, bringing an Olovian flag. As he prepares for engaging in undeclared combat. The confrontation between the two parties continues, as the continuing of the first confrontation of the month.
  • At around 16:35 PM (UTC+7), Olovian president Saleh A.H along with self-declared chief Mikael Gabriel Rafael, Mikaelist sergeant Adnan Adi Pratama, and Olovian corporal Faaris Akran Pratama gathered at a park sidewalk within SD Negeri Pondok Labu 12 (Pondok Labu Public Elementary School 12 Morning), Saleh confessed as he said "We were having laughs, and jokes around, fortunately, nothing bad happened."

2 June: At around 16:29 PM, until 17:50 PM (UTC+7), Olovian president Saleh A.H, along with Olovian first lieutenant Muhammad Farhan and second lieutenant Ucok T. were conferring regarding the Ondernaming civil-conflict situation, at an outpost in Northeastern Ondernaming.

Following the deliberation, Saleh A.H. favored gaining military supplies and soldiery support from the Olovian Northeastern-Ondernaming garrison, Lt Muhammad Farhan. with Lt. Ucok T. and Sgt. Saki Yudis approved Saleh's protocol request. Sgt. Saki Yudis has also promised the Olovian president Saleh A.H to deploy around six Olovian-squad infantries in the rural areas of Ondernaming, in order to engage.

3 June:

  • At around 16:20 PM (UTC+7), Operation Cakrama was officially commenced by the Olovian-central government, as an Olovian-led military operation, the operation was aimed at reclaiming the strategic Mikaelist territorial areas by attempting to encircle them, which were under the occupation of self-declared anti-Saleh faction chief Mikael Gabriel Rafael. The operation involved over sixteen Olovian units, backed by five Olovian-controlled Ondernaming patrols. After the commencing of the Cakrama operation, some local gates were closed by Olovian units, barring Mikaelist militias from getting their path to Northeastern Ondernaming. Sgt. Yudis, with Lt. Muhammad Farhan, led the operation, along with the Northeastern-Ondernaming squad II/Yudis units.[6]
  • At around 21:35 PM (UTC+7), units of the Northeastern Ondernaming squad I/Cakrama fired an estimated over eight pyrotechnics, the firing directs at the Mikaelist territorial areas, leading to possible property damages belonging to Mikaelist militias. Lt. Muhammad Farhan was alleged for being responsible for the firing.[7]

  • At around 15:55 PM (UTC+7), Olovian Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama was ordered by the Olovian president Saleh A.H, to organize an attack in the Romansyah area, Ondernaming, in order to regain the area. Olovian corporal Faaris Akran Pratama was also received two D'cobra AK-47 airsoft by Saleh A.H, with the intention of weaponry use in the ambush.
  • At around 16:47 PM (UTC+7), Olovian Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama deployed a skirmish line formation, along with his Olovian units, consisting of four equipped units, prepared to engage in an ambush with the Mikaelist militia group known to be operating in the nearby Romansyah area of SD Negeri Pondok Labu 12 (Pondok Labu Public Elementary School 12 Morning). Throughout a heavy rain, the ambush continues running as Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama along with his Olovian soldiers immediately charged stealthy within some of the Romansyah area corp trees, while the Mikaelist militias, which were led by Zaf'ar Saputra, tried to counterattack the Faaris-led Olovian units by using equipped canes.
  • At around 17:14 PM (UTC+7), as the rain continues to fall heavily, the Zaf'ar-led Mikaelist militias, decided to retreat into the surrounding Romansyah areas. Their attempt to strike against the Olovian units has been thwarted, the Faaris-led Olovian soldiers successfully executed their mission, marking a significant Olovian victory during the operation, that has allowed them to regain the areas of Romansyah and a blow to the Mikaelist militias operating in the region.

9 June: At around 12:14 PM (UTC+7), Olovian statesman and president Saleh A.H gathered with Olovian Sgt. Syaifullah Ferry, they were attending Friday prayer at the time. Sgt. Ferry promised a visit to Van Engels, with efforts to destabilize the Mikaelist faction.

12 June:

  • At around 16:37 PM (UTC+7), the Olovian president Saleh A.H, along with Lt. Ucok T. and Sgt. Bilal Nafi led a consisting of six Olovian units, which was deployed at Ondernaming. Sgt. Bilal Nafi was in-charge of charging over three more Northeastern Ondernaming squad units, which were equipped with two bicycles, the Bilal-led units were deployed within Phojam, a nearby Mikaelist-controlled Ondernaming area.
  • At around 17:41 PM (UTC+7), the Mikaelist faction withdrew its militias from the Mikaelist-controlled Phojam area and retreated, declaring a significant Olovian-squad victory during the operation. Sgt. Bilal Nafi then gained a reputation for developing a strategy that was effective in fending off the Mikaelist assault.

13 June: With high-rising tensions between the Olovian-central government and the Mikaelist faction continuing to escalate for control over the Ondernaming region, Mikaelist Sgt. Iban Rasya, with Ondernaming neutralist Akbar Setyo Nugroho has decided to temporarily collaborate, against the soldiers of the Olovian squad, which was led by Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama.[8]

  • At around 16:32 PM (UTC+7), the Mikaelist militias and the Ondernaming neutralist militias launched an allied counteroffensive against the units of the Olovian-squads, in the northeastern Romansyah areas, which resulted in failure, the Mikaelist militias suffered some injuries and vehicle damage, as two Mikaelist militia-owned motorcycles were damaged by the Faaris-led Olovian soldiers. Ondernaming neutralist Akbar Setyo Nugroho was also unintentionally shot by Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama, aimed at his right eye from two foam bullets.[8]

15 June: At around 16:20 PM (UTC+7), The Mikaelist militias attempted to conduct an espionage activity on the Badegelk region by deploying three kites to approach its skies, the attempt ended in failure, as one kite was taken down.

17 June:

  • At around 17:01 PM (UTC+7), until 17:04 PM (UTC+7), Olovian president Saleh A.H, accompanied by Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama and Sgt. Bilal Nafi, alongside the Olovian units, fired an estimated over sixteen pyrotechnic shots, which was aimed at the Mikaelist militias in northeastern Romansyah, resulting in five Mikaelist militias injured.[9]
  • At around 17:22 PM (UTC+7), the Mikaelist faction withdrew its militias to the Phojam area. Additionally, Mikael Gabriel Rafael, the self-declared chief of the Mikaelist faction, fled to the Edwikel area.[9]

18 June:

  • At around 16:45 PM (UTC+7), three Olovian units fired two Roman candle pyrotechnics, with each loaded with forty shots, the firing was led by the Olovian president Saleh A.H, which triggered the Mikaelist militias, the pyrotechnic firing attack was concluded at around 17:02 PM (UTC+7), which caused two more Mikaelist militias injured, the Olovian president Saleh A.H was "satisfied" by the firing attack.[10] At around 17:15 PM (UTC+7), the participants of both parties fled from the areas of northwestern Romansyah at around 17:15 PM (UTC+7).[10]

29 June:

  • At around 16:07 PM (UTC+7), the Olovian president Saleh A.H, alongside with Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama fired at least one Roman candle pyrotechnics loaded with ten shots, which caused the Mikaelist militias to flee from the nearby northwestern Romansyah area at around 16:12 PM (UTC+7). Cpl Iban Rasya criticized Mikael's anti-Arab policy, due to government transparency and "an injustice" system.
  • At around 17:49 PM (UTC+7), Raihan Bayu Saputra, a companion of both Muhammad Farhan and Syaifullah Ferry, met Saleh A.H at the Maria center, Van Engels, replacing Ferry's place in attending the visit to Van Engels. Raihan was also received some groceries by Saleh A.H.

2023 July

  • Final conclusion to the civil-conflict

4 July: At around 16:57 PM (UTC+7), two Olovian units, led by Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama, fired one Roman candle pyrotechnic, triggering the Mikaelist faction to be forced to flee from northeastern Romansyah.

9 July:

  • At around 17:06 PM (UTC+7), Olovian president Saleh A.H, conducted a pyrotechnic firing strike on the Mikaelist militias at northwestern Romansyah as a part of the Cakrama operation strikes, the firing strike caused some damages within the area. After the incident, Saleh A.H apologized to the family of the victims and considered the firing strike "a major mistake" conducted by him, the Mikaelist faction condemned Saleh A.H and later on designed him as a "crazy Arab terrorizer" of the people of Ondernaming.
  • At around 17:23 PM (UTC+7), Saleh A.H, accompanied by Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama and Fajar Assegaf, conducted a second strike. which he claimed to have conducted a "more protective" pyrotechnic firing strike, directly aimed at the Mikaelist militias at northeastern Romansyah, the pyrotechnic firing was immediately concluded at 17:26 PM (UTC+7), due to the Mikaelist faction self-declared chief Mikael Gabriel Rafael getting an eye injury, after a shot inflicted by Saleh A.H, which was aimed at his right eye, the eye injury soon resulted in a major breakdown of the Mikaelist faction and a temporary ceasefire declared by Cpl. Iban Rasya and Cpl. Arit. Cpl. Iban Rasya considered that Saleh himself had "won the war", Saleh A.H. heavily denied Iban's statement, he stated that he had "mostly won the conflict".

10 July: At around 20:18 PM (UTC+7), Mikael Gabriel Rafael declared to surrender his oppositionist faction in the civil conflict, calling an end to the civil conflict, the Olovian president Saleh A.H was also invited to Mikael's house, and arrived at his house at around 20:42 PM (UTC+7), to check his eye injury, that resulted in him wounded. It was declared as an Olovian-central government victory at around 23:53 PM (UTC+7).

Post-civil conflict timeline

2023 July

14 July: At around 12:20 PM (UTC+7), Olovian president Saleh A.H arrived and was greeted by Sgt. Bilal Nafi at Northeastern Ondernaming, celebrating the victory over the Mikaelist faction. Olovian Lt. Muhammad Farhan was officially declared to retire from Olovian military service and was making preparations to attend an Islamic boarding school (Indonesian: Pesantren). As a result, he left Northeastern Ondernaming, where he had been stationed during his military activity. Lt. Muhammad Farhan promised to return in 1 September, 2023.

24 July: Two Olovian soldiers were deployed in Ondernaming with a "special security task" with their mission to secure and neutralize any potential threats within Ondernaming, the Olovian president Saleh A.H. made an official statement expressing concerns about the post-civil conflict situation, stated that the civil conflict was still having a significant impact on the region and was "frankly haunting" the heart of Ondernaming.

2023 August

11 August: At around 11:23 AM (UTC+7), Olovian president Saleh A.H met with pro-Olovian volunteer Aldi Julianto, who previously pledged allegiance to the pro-Islamist group during the insurgency in Ondernaming, he claimed that he is "a fan of Saleh's opposition against the Mikaelist faction" with also justifying the Olovian pyrotechnic firing strikes.

2023 September

1 September: At around 10:17 AM (UTC+7), Olovian president Saleh A.H visited Northeastern Ondernaming with purpose for Friday (Jum'ah) prayer, he also met with Lt. Muhammad Farhan as he promised to return from his Islamic boarding school.

2 September:

  • At around 22:45 PM (UTC+7), the Mikaelist faction, led by Matheus William Agung, fired a firework in the aerial of Ondernaming, it was reported by Mikaelist commander Adnan Adi Pratama that it was intended for a celebration, the Olovian president Saleh A.H from his residence in Van Engels, responded with firing a Roman candle pyrotechnic as a strike, ending the celebration forcibly.
  • According to Saleh A.H, the strike was made due to the Mikaelist faction provoking the Olovian state, it was also reported that Fhauzan Amrizal (also known as Ojan), a pro-Mikael Olovian patrol, was involved in a "secret plan" to attack Saleh's residence, targeting his balcony.  

5 September: At around 13:52 PM (UTC+7), Olovian president Saleh A.H paid a visit to the Edwikel region, Ondernaming, where he later stated his purpose, of meeting some people among them Olovian Spc. Faaris Akran Pratama, who would later become an Olovian-Ondernaming patrol.

14 September: Olovian president Saleh A.H discussed with Mikaelist sergeant Iban Rasya on Discord, Iban stated that he "would not have expected Mikael's defeat" in the conflict, he also stated that the faction "was already weakened" for some reasons including due to the Olovian military's tactics.

2023 October

24 October: Olovian president Saleh A.H paid a diplomatic visit to Romansyah, Ondernaming, to neutralize the post-civil conflict situation, he met with some Mikaelist commanders including Mikaelist sergeant Ananda Rizky Rassya.

26 October:

  • At around 15:50 PM (UTC+7), at least five Olovian patrols led by Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama, was deployed in several areas of Ondernaming, mostly stationed on Romansyah. Cpl. Faaris later threatened pro-Mikael Olovian patrol Fhauzan Amrizal (Ojan) using a D'cobra AK-47 airsoft, in a small retail near the Fadli-Arit area, Ondernaming.[11]
  • At around 17:28 PM (UTC+7), the Olovian president Saleh A.H coincidentally met with Mikaelist chief William "Agung" Matheus, both discussed regarding the Mikaelist faction breakdown and a few incidents during Matheus's leadership, Matheus stated he would continue his faction holding the stance of neutrality and trying to avoid possible future conflicts with Saleh A.H.[11]

28 October:

  • At around 19:02 PM (UTC+7), An official Islamic event Mawlid celebration occurred in the Romansyah area, Ondernaming. It was also attended by both Mikaelist (excluding Mikael Gabriel Rafael, founder of the faction) and several Olovian commanders, Olovian president Saleh A.H. declared during the event that Olovian sergeant Bilal Nafi of the Olovian military, will be promoted to the rank of Major on 31 October, 2023.
  • At around 21:46 PM (UTC+7), Olovian president Saleh A.H was offered by Mikaelist sergeant Ananda Rizky Rassya to meet Mikael's rumored girlfriend Wihayatunnusuf Azzahra (nicknamed Zahra), Saleh refused the offer and stated that she is an "asset" belonging to Mikael Gabriel Rafael.

31 October: At around 21:55 PM (UTC+7), Bilal Nafi was promoted to the rank of Major of the Olovian military.

2023 November

6 November: At around 00:29 AM (UTC+7), Mikaelist commanders vandalized several walls near the Fadil-Arit area, participated by Mikael Gabriel Rafael, Putra Khairudin Akbar, and Iban Rasya, with intention of promoting anti-Saleh propaganda.

11 November:

  • At around 14:50 PM (UTC+7), a military exercise of the Olovian Northeastern-Ondernaming squad II/Yudis soldiers occurred in a football field in the Romansyah area, Ondernaming, until 17:14 PM (UTC+7). However, the exercise was criticized by most commanders of the Mikaelist faction, some members also requested to end the exercise before nautical dusk.
  • At around 16:38 PM (UTC+7), the Olovian Youth militias also started its training exercise on northeastern Ondernaming, led by Olovian Sgt. Gibran Meidiansyah Kasim.

12 November: At around 19:22 PM (UTC+7), Mikaelist Sgt. Ananda Rizky Rassya visited northeastern Ondernaming, expecting to meet some Olovian commanders in the Al-Amin area.

16 November:

  • At around 15:47 PM (UTC+7), Olovian president Saleh A.H hosted an event of the stepping of the Israeli flag, in response to the "atrocities, terrorism, and war crimes committed by Israel on Palestinian civilians" on the 2023 Israel–Hamas war. Some members of the Mikaelist faction voiced their opposition to the event, while most of them supported the event, Mikaelist commander Adnan Adi Pratama burned the Israeli flag using his lighter.
  • At around 16:30 PM (UTC+7), Saleh A.H orated about his support for Palestine, including for its militant organization Hamas, and his strong opposition to Israel in the Romansyah area, Ondernaming, his oration ended at around 17:22 PM (UTC+7).

19 November: A fight occurred between Olovian commander Adam Alfadilah and Mikaelist commander Anom in the Romansyah area, Ondernaming.

24 November:

  • At around 16:14 PM (UTC+7), the Olovian president Saleh A.H, accompanied by Olovian sergeant Gibran Meidiansyah Kasim, led a decisive assault comprising thirteen Olovian Youth militias against five Mikaelist militias in the northeastern Romansyah, Ondernaming.[12]
  • At around 16:22 PM (UTC+7), the Olovian Youth militias managed to capture the majority of northeastern Romansyah areas, formerly stationed with Mikaelist militias, but their efforts to reclaim the adjacent Fadil-Arit area were ultimately unsuccessful. The assault persisted until 17:09 PM (UTC+7), at which point the Olovian youth militias demobilized from the area. In the aftermath, Fhauzan Amrizal, previously aligned with the Mikaelist faction, publicly declared his disassociation from the faction.[12] Tensions escalated, which led to the Ojan Crisis, named after the nickname of Fhauzan Amrizal.
