The Arlandican Navy (Cebuano: Hukbong Pangkadagatan sa Arlandika; Ilocano: Agnatngat ti Arlandika), also known as the Arlandican Fleet and officially the Arlandican Naval Service, is the naval service branch of the Civil Guards of Arlandica (CGA). The branch is considered a brown-water navy and is responsible for naval warfare operations, as well as marine, riverine, and coastal patrol missions within Arlandica's territorial waters.

It currently has an estimated personnel strength of over 7 individuals and staff, and operates small rented or chartered boats, including inflatable ones. However, the Ministry of Defense has already planned to acquire larger boats in 2024.

History

Since its foundation, Arlandica has shown interest in establishing a navy due to its possession of coastline territories.

On February 2024, as tensions escalated between Taiwan and China, King Jerold I expressed concerns about Arlandica's territories in the north, particularly Lémarita, which could be vulnerable in the event of conflicts between the two entities.

On March 28, 2024, as part of efforts to strengthen the defense of Lémarita, the Civil Guard announced the creation of the Naval Service through Act of Parliament No. 21. The Naval Service is tasked with protecting Arlandica's extensive territorial waters. On the same day, Vice Admiral Vincent "VJ" Alvarez, a relative of Benz Gian Arellano, was appointed as the first Commander of the branch by King Jerold I.

Organization

The monarch of Arlandica holds the rank of Admiral of the Fleet in their capacity as the Commander-in-Chief. The Commander of the Naval Service is subordinate to the Chief of Staff and exercises control and command of the branch, instructing unit commanders. The Commander of the Naval Service is appointed by either the Chief of Staff or the monarch.

Like the Regular Forces in the CGA, the navy has its own units, each with a strength of at least 5 to 6 personnel or more. Units may be further subdivided into groups, each with a strength of 2 to 4 personnel.

Any admiral or vice admiral is eligible for the role of Naval Service commander. Vice Admiral Vincent "VJ" Alvarez currently holds the position of Commander of the Naval Service.

Pacific Unit

The Pacific Unit is the only unit in the Arlandican Navy, situated adjacent to the Babuyan Channel, which is part of the Pacific Ocean. It is currently led by Captain Trishia Delos Santos.

The unit operates in the coastal areas of Lémarita, with its primary mission being to protect the province against foreign invasions using coastal defense and fortifications. It also operates in river areas such as the Abulog River and Ticaowa River, the longest river in Arlandica. The unit does not have naval ports to dock vessels, as there are currently no medium-sized vessels in the navy's possession.

The unit has only one group, the 1st Naval Infantry Group.

The Arlandican Navy has established naval bases and outposts throughout different parts of Arlandica, especially along its coastal areas. These installations serve as facilities where personnel can carry out various missions.
