The next Georgienstinian congressional election will occur no later than 2 July 2024, although it may be called earlier as a snap election.

Background

After the April 2024 election where GF saw significant gains, adding three seats to its tally. This increase was primarily attributed to turnout issues affecting VG and the LDP. This is the first election in which a party received an absolute majority of the vote since February 2023 and the first election in which a party received over 60% of the vote since July 2022 during the GF era of domination.

Electoral System

Prior to this election the electoral system was proportional representation in a single nationwide constituency, with a legal threshold of 1 full seat (6.25%), and residuals assigned by the D’Hondt method with the National Congress is composed of 16 seats. However after the April 2024 referendum, voters approved the Congressional Reform Amendment, which reduced the Congress from 16 to 14 seats.
