The New English Mutual Cooperation Organization, more commonly known as NEMCO, is an inter-governmental organization based in New England. Its purpose is to maintain peace and stability within the New England Sector. The organization was originally founded by King Antonio V of Bristolia and King Conor I of Fontasia in July of 2022 as the New England Mutual Protection Agreement (NEMPA) however the organization evolved into the New England Mutual Cooperation Organization in mid-November 2022.
History
Norumbega Pact (NP) (2021)
The idea of a New England micronational organization dates back to around October 2021 when the former Second Assemblic Federation organized the Norumbega Pact, a short-lived alliance that merged with the Rocky Mountain Confederation.
New England Mutual Protection Agreement (NEMPA) (4 July 2022-8 November 2022)
After the Dilu War and the Zepranan Crisis causing major issues for New England micronations, it was agreed upon by the Kingdom of Fontasia, Kingdom of Bristolia and Zeprana to sign a treaty implementing regional defense and protection between signatory states. This formed the New England Mutual Protection Agreement, known as NEMPA. The agreement did little to promote actual change however. Zeprana subsequently was ousted from the agreement due to various tensions and concerns with its membership. In September 2022 a small boost of membership occurred when the Princedom of Gilford and the Democratic Neutral Republic of Kurherika signed the agreement. Days later the Empire of Belangard joined, but left a few days later. In October, Ballinfoyleburg, Meritia and Scynja joined, with Meritia leaving in less than five minutes. It was concluded on 8 November that the agreement had to be significantly upgraded to ensure its survival, therefore the New England Mutual Cooperation Organization was established.
