The Laskaridian Intelligence Agency (LIA), known officially as the Crown Intelligence Bureau (CIB) is the primary intelligence agency of the Kingdom of Laskaridia. It acts in close cohesion with the Public Force of Laskaridia and the Royal Navy. The agency is responsible for the gathering, management and protection of foreign intelligence. The agency also specializes in cryptography, technological sciences and forensics intelligence.
The agency was formed by a Princely Edict on 25 September 2023, the current acting head of the agency is the Prince, who holds the office in commission. The bureau is controlled de-jure by an Intelligence Council and is a part of the Laskaridian Armed Forces.
History
The first traces of Laskaridian intelligence were during the Ruisseauan Civil War. Although the Westavians had some form of intelligence gathering, they lacked formal organization. The Ruisseauan Intelligence Force was established by a letter-patent by Prince John Alexander. The force was primarily engaged to gather intelligence about the revivalists and to gain blackmail about their leaders. When the civil war began, the force was engaged in collecting information about rebel advances and used technology to monitor and coordinate movements.
The force was eventually disestablished. The successor to Ruisseau was Setara, which did have an informal intelligence agency that cooperated with anti-McKeenist and anti-Almendrian nations and forces, it was primarily under the coordination of Gabriel Sebastian (Vice President) and the Minister of the Interior (Benjamin Shapiro). The Republic of Juniperia had an intelligence agency, the Juniperian Intelligence Agency, managed first by the Ministry of War and Defence and later became an independent agency headed by the Baron Shieh. Shieh was appointed during the republican era and is known for his intelligence operations during the Gapla-Juniperia War of 2022. The war saw a major deployment of intelligence agencies, the Invictisian, Gaplan, and Juniperian agencies were involved.
Structure
The head of the agency coordinates all lower bodies and holds precedence over the various organizations that make up the agency. The board directly below the office of the director is the Intelligence Council, this council can be composed of various civilian and military officials not necessarily adjoined to the agency, it can also consist of foreign officers that have been appointed.
Chairman
The Chairman of the Laskaridian Intelligence Agency is the head of the whole agency, the office is granted to individuals at the discretion of the sovereign with the optional advice of the Chamber of Ministers and the Chamber of Lords. The office can be revoked also by the monarch.

The intelligence council is composed of various officials form the realm and outside. It is currently composed of the following,
