The Unified Military Defence Force, shortened to the UMDF and known externally as the Princian Unified Defence Force, is the Princian Commonwealth's first and only military, consisting of four regiments. The UMDF was created by the 2021 Act of Military on 20 April 2021 and reformed into the current system by the 2023 Regimental Act on 14 September 2023, receiving funding from various murage tax-zones (MTZs) as per the 2024 Murage Order. As of 14 September 2023, the regiment with the most personnel is 1st Royal, with most recruitment coming from the Outlying Province of Stonne. All regiments also operate youth sections known as cadet regiments, operating in a similar fashion to the United Kingdom's Combined Cadet Force. The regiment with the most cadets is Blacks.
Regiments
Allied Regiment
The Allied Regiment, commonly referred to as just Allied, (abrv. AR) is the UMDF regiment recruiting from the Home Province of Addersonheath, most of the region of Cathair (excluding the City of Warterby district) and the county of Roovesbridge.
Blacks Regiment
The Blacks Regiment, commonly referred to as just Blacks, (abrv. BR) is the UMDF regiment recruiting from the City of Warterby district and the counties of Touraffshire & Wesprincia. The regiment is named Blacks in reference to the loosely-defined Vander Blacks sub-region in which the word "black" means a reef or bank in an estuary (in this case a bank in the Dee Estuary), from the Old English "blæc."
1st Royal Regiment
The 1st Royal Regiment, commonly referred to as just 1st Royal, (abrv. 1R) is the UMDF regiment recruiting from the Home Province of Southopearce and the outlying provinces of Stonne & the Soeds.
2nd Royal Grouped Regiment
The 2nd Royal Grouped Regiment, commonly referred to as 2nd Royal Grouped or just 2nd Royal, (abrv. 2R) is the UMDF regiment recruiting from the Union Protectorate of Allisterloo and the Parvusmount Self-Determined Province.
