The 2012 LIR Union Summit (Indonesian: Pertemuan Uni LIR 2012) was a diplomatic conference between member states of an Indonesian customs union LIR Union, that was took place on 10 August 2012 in Kranji, Los Bay Petros. The meeting discussed and ratified the founding treaty of LIR Union. This summit became the first of its kind inside the sector and the only conference held by the Union before its collapse in 2013.

Background

Prior to the conference, members of the Indonesian sector always engaged in communications through online means as the only possible method. Attempts to hold a physical meeting was deemed unrealistic, since the process would be expensive and not affordable for Indonesian micronationalists, already separated by miles.

Members of LIR Union, unified on their similar politics and economic principles and characteristics, thought a meeting between them would be the most realistic, as LIR Union members are located close from each other, and were able to easily access their neighbouring micronations. In June 2012, LIR Union members committed to hold a summit before the end of the year.

To fulfill the goal member states already set, an internal commission was later formed to arrange the planned summit in July 2012. The commission agreed that the meeting would take place in August 2012 and would take form as a breakfasting dinner, as August was also coincides with the holy month of Ramadan in Islamic calendar. The commission also agreed to set Los Bay Petros as the host, with territory of Kranji as the meeting place, being the closest point from Indokistan and Raflesinesia.

Indrawan Prasetyo of UMSSR was reported to be interested to attend the summit in July 2012. With his attendance became almost certain, he suddenly cancelled his attendance on early August, citing technical issue as reason for his cancellation. Should he successfully attend, the conference would be a true intermicronational summit, rather than just an organisation meeting.

Events

The meeting took place in a restaurant previously reserved by Indokistan and Raflesinesia that arrived first on the meeting point. Los Bay Petrosian representatives arrived late from the designated time. After a short preparation including a publicised immigration procedure, the meeting was opened by President Adriansyah Yassin Sulaeman at 5.15 PM (UTC +7).

The first discussion topic was on recent development report of member states, including a discussion between Indokistan and Raflesinesian delegates to establish a joint tollroad company. The meeting was adjourned for half an hour to allow delegates to have a breakfast, as the meeting was took place during the holy Islamic month of Ramadan, and then to have an early evening prayer.

After the adjournment was revoked, delegates proceed with the signing ceremony of treaties. The first document was the LIR Union Founding Treaty, specifying the basis of activity of the organisation, that was signed by all delegates. The second document was a territorial division agreement between Indokistan and Raflesinesia, known as Kranggan Agreement, that was signed by Nabil Ihsan and Rayhan Haikal and was witnessed by Los Bay Petrosian delegates. The meeting was then continued with a free discussion among delegates.

At approximately 7.30 PM, the summit were closed by President Adriansyah Yassin Sulaeman. A photograph session of summit delegates was held afterwards outside the meeting hall. Adriansyah Yassin then accompany Nabil and Rayhan departure, before withdrawing himself from the place.

Aftermath and influences

The summit was a milestone of micronational activities inside Indonesian sector. Micronational leaders praised the summit because of its success, and it became a prove that a physical intermicronational meeting is possible. This summit motivates Indonesian micronationalists to arrange a micronational meeting on a larger scale several months after the summit, but always failed because of its continuous delay and unclear plan.
