General elections for all 9 seats of the Council of State, including the members of the Presidency of Juclandia, were held in Juclandia from 17 to 22 August 2020. Adam Banici ended up on the first place, replacing Ovia Bogi as President of Juclandia.

Electoral system

The 2020 elections were conducted using a different electoral system. For the first time in Juclandia's history, the President and the Vice President were no longer elected separately from the rest of the members of the Council of State. Moreover, the Council of State was reduced from 15 to 9 seats, with co-operative-based constituencies and the permanent seat of the Patriarch of the Church of Juclandia being abolished.

Every voter disposed of 9 votes, to allocate freely among the candidates. Voters were free to distribute their votes without any constraints: they could spend all their 9 votes on a single candidate, or they could offer one vote to 9 different candidates, with all the options in-between remaining possible. The first-placed candidate would become President, whereas the runner-up would become Vice President.

Results

Strategic voting employed by the Grey Area members resulted in Adam Banici winning the first place among the 9 elected candidates, and thus replacing Ovia Bogi as President of Juclandia. The United Revolutionary Front preferred to prioritise maximising their number of seats, missing the chance to win a fourth place by a small margin of 5 votes. While Patriarch Bartholomeos lost his permanent seat, he managed to get elected by popular vote. While his party, Harmony, employed the same strategy as the United Revolutionary Front, their smaller numbers resulted in the party only winning one seat.
