Government of Gapla, et al., v. Jha (officially Government of the Federated States of Gapla, et al., v. Ishan Jha) is an ongoing court case between the Gaplan government and Ishan Jha. It was filed on 22 November 2023 by a group of parties, principally the Government of Gapla, and will be tried on 25 November 2023 in the Dominion Court of Gaplastovia.

It concerns an alleged fraudulent use of heraldic symbols (stolen valour), copyright violations, and fraudulently assuming the right to issue Arms. The case was started after Jha created a Coat of Arms for the Dominion of Cristus, a constituent dominion of Gapla.

While Jha at first refused to cooperate with the Court, after being notified that losing the case could carry consequences, Jha initiated a cooperation with the Court, stating that he will appear in court and that he will provide an extrajudiciary conversation to let Gaplan authorities investigate the case. Despite claims of Gapla having an advanced courts system, the case has not yet preceded.

Charges

Jha is currently facing three charges alleged by the plaintiffs.

  • 1 count of violation of Crown Copyright,
  • 1 count of fraudulent representation of heraldic materials, constituting stolen valour,
  • 1 count of fraudulently assuming the right to grant Arms.
