Farhan Abbas is a retired Indokistani politician known as the first and final President of Indokistan. He was one of the founders of the country in 2010, together with Dicky L. K. and Mustafa Hakim. Beside as president, he also served as governor of his home state Central Indokistan from 2013 to July 2016.
One of the main figure in Indokistan, he was one of the architect that cemented the foundation of many incarnations of Indokistan until its dissolution. His consistency to contribute to Indokistan despite of obstacles and challenges was widely praised.
Intermicronationaly, he was a respected delegate for Indokistan on Association of Indonesian Micronations (AIM). Arkaporean Islamist leader, Tian Abdurrahman, recognised him as a rival due to arguments they often experienced. After Indokistani dissolution in 2016, he decided to fully retired from micronational world.
First presidential term
Farhan was the first person to suggest the name "Indokistan" for the newly-formed micronation, earlier known as Indostan. After signing the Indokistani founding document in 16 September 2010, Farhan agreed to took the position as the first president.
Farhan conceived many intiatives on national politics and culture to consolidate the First Republic. However, his term was interrupted by emergence of short-lived Socialist Republic of Indokistan following a coup in December 2010. His opposition to the Socialist Republic fueled the spirit of Indokistans to fight the communist government, culminated in the January Revolution in 2011 and his return to the presidency.
On February 2011, Farhan authorised the process of publishing information of Indokistan to the world and to the MicroWiki community, starting the era of true micronationalism in Indokistan. At the same time, a form of personality cult developed around him, particularly after the formation of Indokistan's first parliament, named after him.
His first term oversaw threats from neighboring micronation of Ntolia and Nameless. On March 2011, Indokistan-Ntolian War wasstarted after Ntolian troops ambushed the capital city Jumstraad. On the same period, four Indokistani ministers left the country to join Nameless, triggering the Nameless Incident which destroyed Indokistan's gender balance. Despite the crises, he successfully upheld the citizens' morale, avoided chaos and saved the country.
Activist for Indokistan
After his end of term in office, Prime Minister Mustafa Hakim decided to appoint him as the presidential adviser on 16 September 2011, to support the president and the prime minister. This appointment was to appease the Indokistani public that still has a high confidence on Farhan and the expectation that he will remain influential in day-to-day government despite without holding a major political office.
However, Farhan suddenly turned hostile against Indokistan and denounced Mustafa in October 2011, which observers claimed was partly caused by his personal issue. Farhan later declared his departure from Indokistan. This incident greatly humiliated on Mustafa who, in fury, declared a policy of damnatio memoriae against Farhan in 16 October. The decision was a great blunder in Indokistan, and critics immediately surfaced, even as far as from the neighbouring Los Bay Petros. Embarassed, Mustafa abruptly rescinded the policy.
After successfully managing his personal issue, Farhan returned to micronationalism. He was rehabilitated in Indokistan in early 2012, and contributed as an advisor for the president, though no official title was conferred. His first office after regaining his credibility in the country beside was the Ambassador for Los Bay Petros and UMSSR.
From 2012 to 2014, Farhan held a great influence in Indokistan despite not holding any vital political offices. He was the first people to suggest the only amendement to the 2011 constitution in January 2012, which was successful, and the disbandment of Indokistan Armed Forces in February 2012, which was defeated in a referendum. He later suggested a new anthem for Indokistan, Berjayalah Indokistan on December 2013.
Second presidential term
Farhan won his second presidential term after gaining 75 per cent of electoral votes in the only indirect presidential election in July 2014. His return to presidency was welcomed by micronational leaders.
On April 2015, he authorized the process to make Indokistani direct democracy a distinct political system by codifying it.
In the last days of the Federal State, he maintained a good attendance rate in the National Forum, especially as he was the forum's leader by virtue of his presidency. Leading the withering country, he unprecedentedly supported the proposal to disband the country on June 2016, with Farhan himself signed the dissolution decree.
Questioned on why he decided to approve the disbandment, Farhan admitted he felt his time with Indokistan was enough. On 25 June, Farhan delivered his final remarks on the dissolution and then declared his home state Central Indokistan to be dissolved on 5 July.
After the dissolution, he decided to retire from micronational activities, yet promising to keep in touch on micronational activities development and members of micronational community.
Farhan was considered a left-libertarian and market socialist. He was known to be the opponent of the government action to increase the government intervention in various affairs in Indokistan. A supporter of direct democracy and non-partisan politics, he insists the important of the people's freedom without excessive intervention from the government.
He was also known to oppose the government's to increase the grip to the economic affairs in Indokistan. In 2014, he asked the government to hand over the ownership of all business to the people in a form of syndicates regulated by the government. His view were endorsed by the National Forum and became the main principle of economy in Indokistan codified in the constitution
Speeches and Remarks
Farhan was known as a good orator and made many speeches throughout his political career ins Indokistan. On his first term, he was made three televised presidential speeches. On his second term in 2015, he decided to no longer televise his speech and employed only written remarks published on newspaper to convey his statement.
On March 2011, he deliver his most famous speech condemning foreign intervention in Libyan Civil War. On his speech, he declared support to Gaddafi's government and denounced the foreign invasion to Libya, which he called "an act to find new source of oil". This speech gained many praises and criticisms, but widely accepted in Indokistan, which was seen as a braveful act.
..the United States thinks that they are the only one who will brings peace and democracy in Libya...but they only wanted their large oil fields. The United States may fool the world, but they cannot fool Indokistan,..
On the same period, he also made a speech condemning Ntolians during Indokistan-Ntolian War. He accused Ntolians as barbaric and imitating Indokistan success. This speech successfully raised Indokistani citizens morale to defend the country against Ntolian invaders.
He made his last televised speech as a farewell after Inauguration of Dicky L. K. in 16 September 2011. On that speech, he was very delighted and happy to serve Indokistan, and also happy to accept the new president, Dicky L. K., but sad because he can no longer work for the people as president. In the end of the speech, he congratulated the new president and wished him good luck.
On his second term as president, he made remarks on the success of the codification of Indokistani direct democracy in April 2015, on the second anniversary of the Federal State of Indokistan in July 2015, and his last was on the dissolution of Indokistan in June 2016.
