Cristoria, officially Socialist Republic of Cristoria, is a micronation located within North America, specifically Toledo, Ohio, United States. The micronation was founded by Christopher P. on 1 January 2023, by declaring independence from the United States. The Socialist Republic of Cristoria is amongst the few micronations known to be located in Northwestern Ohio.

History

Once the Rosso-Cristorian Empire and its Emperors abdicated in December of 2022, ex-King Christopher P., representatives from New Toledo, Saturnia, and former representatives of the Kingdom of Cristoria established a new republic named the Republic of Cristoria.

The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Book of Laws were all drafted on January 1, 2023, during a meeting of the first Continental Congress of the new republic. With the approval of Congress, the republic signed its first pact with the Socialist Republic of Hoku on January 4, 2023.

The micronation, being mostly peaceful as it is in the Reconstruction Period, entered its first conflict with another micronation on 28 January 2023 and whilst still regaining political stability since the Kingdom of Cristoria, they were still victorious. This operation, more commonly known as Operation: Blazing Glory, was carried out on 28 January 2023 by the Congress of Cristoria and the council of the Syndicate Nations of Prosperity against the Gorthian Federation. Following this operation, some Gorthian micronations were condemned in order to bring the operation to a close. As a result, the Second War on Gorthalism broke out and was soon resolved, with the Gorthians submitting the Treaty of Jwanczuk, a peace agreement.

The Republic of Cristoria began the process of becoming an autonomous republic within the United Socialist Republics, often known as Almendria, on 19 February 2023. The Republic of Cristoria officially changed its name to the Socialist Republic of Cristoria during the inauguration because the country had already started adhering to socialist principles before it joined the USR.

The Socialist Republic of Cristoria seized control of the Gorthian Federation's digital communication center on 20 February 2023, with the help of the United Socialist Republics (or Almendria). Tizian Aruna and his allies used Dylan Jwanczuk's address as a point of interrogation to obtain ownership of the server. Many Gorthian users of their Discord server rebelled during the Almendrian occupation, with some demanding that Tizian Aruna return the server.

On 21 February 2023, the Socialist Republic of Cristoria formally and informally declared independence from the United Socialist Republics in such a way that was deemed successful. Tizian Aruna of the United Socialist Republics had ownership of the Cristorian Discord server, which in retaliation, President Christopher nuked it and messaged all members to join the new server that the Cristorian government had made.

Government and structure

The governmental structure of the Socialist Republic of Cristoria is divided into three main categories. The three main categories consist of judicial, legislative, and an executive office, all compromised and governed within a bicameral congress.

Senate

The lower chamber of the congress is the senate, which composes of forty members. Each senate member can earn the ability to earn seats in the elections that take place every six months within during congressional elections. The senate has the ability to enact, propose, and send bills directly to the president, if the whole house votes upon doing so.

House of Representatives

The upper chamber of the congress is the house of representatives, which, similarly to the senate, has forty members. Each representative and their party also has a chance to earn seats during the congressional elections that take place every six months.

Geography

The Republic is very limited to geographic beauty due to it's small size. However, it does occupy enough land for humanitarian presence and living standards.

Territories

Cristoria inherited its previous territories from the Kingdom, giving it life. The capital of the Socialist Republic of Cristoria is New Toledo.

Capital City

The capital city of Cristoria is the city that represents Cristoria and the Cristorian motive, which is to get all of Toledo. The capital of Cristoria is currently New Toledo. New Toledo has also served as the Capital during the kingdom, empire, the Anarchist state, and now the newest rendition, the Socialist republic, due a treaty signed during the Free State of Cristoria.

States

States are territories that exist on the main land but are divided into regions, for example, New Toledo is a state if it loses its job as being the capital. These territories connect to the mainland, meaning any territory that is under Cristoria and is connected to the mainland, receives statehood.

Enclaves

Enclaves are typically territories that are surrounded by other land that is not connected to the Cristorian mainland and or surrounded by another nation. These are more typically seen with overseas territories Cristoria will eventually get in the future. As of now, no enclaves exist under Cristorian authority and rule.

Autonomous Cristorian Republics

Introduced in April 2023, Autonomous Cristorian Republics are republics that have declared autonomy with the Cristorian government and that have been approved by the Congress of Cristoria

Foreign Relations

Following the collapse of the kingdom, the Socialist Republic of Cristoria recognized all of its previous diplomatic allies. Cristoria also recognizes every macronation, to further spread it's beliefs in recognition of every micronation by macronational powers.

In order to engage in diplomacy or mutual recognition with the Socialist Republic of Cristoria, applicants must align with the foreign policy document.

Climate

Cristoria shares its climate with Toledo, meaning they receive the same weather. Toledo and Cristoria typically recieve the same weather and on rare occasions Cristorian climate is different from Toledo's. Toledoan and Cristorian weather is typically warm in Spring and cold in the Winter, as per usual with states in the United States.

National colors and symbols

Cristoria's national symbols add up and makes Cristoria's unique character shine a little more as a micronation.

National Flag

The national flag is the ultimate symbol of the Cristorian Republic, and is flown to represent the country. The flag is a tricolor that consists of three columns, the left being royal blue, the middle being white, and the right being gray.

During the Flag Act of 2023, the previous flag, which was a vertical tri-color occupying the Cristorian colors, was replaced with the old tricolor of the Cristorian Kingdom.

On 19 February 2023, following the inauguration of the republic into the United Socialist Republics, the micronation changed its flag to represent its beliefs of Socialism.

The flag had a hammer and sickle in the top left with three stars around it, symbolizing the states of the Socialist Republic of Cristoria and showing their ability to protect Cristoria's Socialist ideals. On the bottom, there was a blue and gray stripe at the bottom, taking heavy inspiration from the Republics of the Soviet Union.

National Emblem

The National Emblem of the Socialist Republic of Cristoria was implemented in March 2023, whereas it consists of a heraldric blazon divided into four regions.

The top left region consists of the Atom symbol sitting on a royal purple box, showing the micronation's goal of becoming scientifically advanced in the future.

The top right region consists of a hammer and sickle sitting on a dark red box, symbolizing the micronation's goal of successfully implementing Socialism and Communism in the New World.

The bottom left region consists of an anchor sitting on a teal box, again, representing the micronation's goal of becoming a naval power in the foreseeable future.

The bottom right region consists of two rifles crossed onto one another, symbolizing the micronation's ability to independently defend itself and the rights and liberties of the working class.

The blazon itself is wrapped in leaves which are ultimately held together by the flag of Cristoria, as a symbol of patriotism for the micronation.

National Bird

Cristoria's national bird was the Northern Cardinal. The bird is red and black. It can typically be found in Southeastern Canada, Eastern United States, Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala.

National Animal

Cristoria's national animal is the Tortoiseshell Cat. The type of cat is quite pricy and can be bought at the price of $1,000-2,000. A cat represents Cristoria due to vigilance, peace, and aggression when agitated.

National Dish

Cristoria's national dish is currently Beef, as it is seen as the most enjoyed and seen dish within the Socialist Cristorian Republic. Beef is the most seen being imported and exported via the United States, making it the national dish and food.

National Drink

Cristoria's national drink is Coca-Cola, as it is the most imported and exported drink in the micronation. The drink is a soda which is based in the United States, however it is declared as Cristoria's national drink. Coca-Cola was also the national drink during the Kingdom's reign. Coca-Cola is the obligated beverage to christen ships that are under the Cristorian flag and or were built in Cristoria, differing from most macronations, whom use champagne as a christening beverage. One could argue Coffee could qualify as the national drink, but Coca-Cola is more seen being imported and exported.

National Anthem

Cristoria's national anthem is Humanity's Hope, made by Israeli-American, Inon Zur. The anthem was chosen as it aims to give a scientific, professional, and calming feel to the micronation. The song was also used as a sound track for a faction named the "Institute" in the game Fallout 4.
