The Civil Service Medal (Hindi: सिविल सेवा पदक) is a state medal conferred by the State of Vishwamitra and is the lowest ranking decoration of the state. The medal was constituted on 6 April 2022 by Rashtradhyaksh Dhrubajyoti Roy, only a week prior to the Crystal Jubilee anniversary of the nation. The medal is conferrable upon members of the civil services, parliament, and military who have rendered their services in their respective positions for a period of more than six months.
Criteria, grades, and insignia
Criteria
The criterion for induction to the Civil Service Medal is reserved only to members of the civil service (diplomats, civil servants), politicians, members of the armed forces for their continued dedication towards the state and the people. It is only conferred on individuals who have served in their respective civil or military positions for a period of more than six months.
Grades
The Civil Service Medal is conferred as a single-grade decoration with the rank of Recipient. All recipients of the medal bear the post-nominal letters of "C.S.P." The medal ranks below all state orders and decorations and just ranks immediately above all commemorative medals.
Insignia
The insignia of the Civil Service Medal consists of a medallion worn on chest. It is composed of a medallion in silver which bears a three-headed elephant on a wreath with the lettering "सिविल सेवा पदक" below. The medallion is hung on a riband which is red in colour with yellow and green vertical stripes at both ends.
